During the early 2000s a rather eclectic group of designers and developers banded together to create one of the first tutorial learning sites: CommunityMX. Through regular online interactions and the infamous TODCON Conference, we became best friends and still chat with each other to this day.
One of the members of this merry band of tutorialists was Chris Flick. He was our resident Freehand tutorialist but he became much more than that when he created a biweekly comic strip: CMX Suite. The premise was we all worked in the same office and the strip chronicled our misadventures. For some odd reason, I became Chris's primary target. I never knew when I would appear but when I did it put me in the craziest situations, from being dressed up in a Turkey Suit to celebrate American Thanksgiving to the inevitable result of accidentally sitting on the boss' iPod.
I once asked Chris why he picked on me and his response was classic Chris: "Every cartoonist needs a Daffy Duck." My reply? "Carry on."
Here's a collection of the best strips that Chris created that "slander" me. They also got me wondering why there is not a comic strip that regularly skewers technology. The ground is so fertile for someone of Chris's ability to skewer the pomposity of the current technological environment. Chris would have a field day.
